Project---Split cable pull linkage

Pete, I was not in a hurry, besides, to redesign the piece for a one time deal is not very practical or cost effective.

It always seems cheaper to make something yourself, but it usually isn't. Then there's the time it takes......

But when you're done with the project... you still have the machinery. It's not cheaper, but it's better.

The pulleys are entirely optional on the split cable linkage...
Works as well with a lever.
(Just doesn't look anywhere near as trick)

The pulleys also allow some cable end clamp//attachment tricks that can make life simpler and more reliable.

I ran modified weber arms for a long time, only went with the pulleys when they got lost during an engine/car swap.

The first setup required a drill, files, sawzall, cat, hammer. Used it for ~50 K miles, zero issues.

hey pete well i just scrolled through 20 pages of this and really want this setup for my 2270 powered 911.

i have 44idf's and a dtm. how do i get one? im going to throwup if i have to deal with this cb hex bar any more.

im serious i really would like to purchase a kit. raw aluminum preferably.

this is my setup peaking out of the engine bay.

Pete's linkage is a work of art. Your best bet for contacting him is a PM through here or on The Samba.

The Hexbar is a definite ...motivator(?) for those who actually pay attention to how things really work... Or in that case, doesn't.
(I'm still waiting for whatizname from CB to come in and say how many million have been sold and they are a great design...)

thanks guys im going to try to get in touch with him. i have always despised setting up the hexbar linkeage, and have always been amazed at how many times i have to make fine adjustments to keep the carbs working together. for constant full throttle driving they are fine, but for a daily driver i just cant do it. the split cable is by design so much simpler. it seems that once the sync cable is tensioned it pretty much cannot be out of sync. also as a bonus the fact that the sync cable runs under the alternator makes removing the alternator and fan twice as easy. also i dont have to run the ugly air cleaners to accomodate the hex bar....... man i could go on and on about how awesome this thing is. ive even been ranting to my gf when i was driving the 911 today and is was stumbling just off idle, due to a lazy right side carb. man i cant wait to get my hands on this thing.

Manny, Jake sells really nice HD plastic manifold<>head insulators--- infinitely stronger than the stock Bakelite ones and made to be ported. If he doesn't have them HAM may.

Should get you the .0625" you need plus plenty to spare.

You may need to email the folks in the type4store rather than Jake, not everything is listed.
