That's a mean beast!
Do you have any specs on the Pauter cam?
Are the Deutz cylinders really big enough for 107mm pistons??

Hi
Double check with Pauter and make sure the rods don't interfere with the cam. Last time I saw Pauter rods on a 86 mm type 4 crank the rods interfered with the cam big time:( Although it was a cam with smaller
base circle. Fat Performance sells some nice Cunninghams look a like rods as well as real Cuninghams rods
and they will clear the cam nicely.

Pauter makes rods that clear cams on big strokers, and they provide as much clearance as the Cunninghamn rods do. Just not a lot of people know about them. And these rods use 5/16 ARP Custom Age 625 Plus bolts with a Fastener Yield Strength (psi) 260,000 psi to 280,000 psi rating, where the Cunningham rods use I believe H-11 Tool Steel Bolts with a Fastener Yield Strength (psi) 220,000 psi rating.

Oh... to dampen harminics, and provide a good finish...To avoid vibration at the machining
I thought they were torque plates, to simulate the compression of heads bolted in place.
Did you use torque plates when coming upon the finished size?
Those cylinders look thick enough that they might not gain any benefit from a torque plate..

We term it "chatter" not vibration in the tooling/fixturing.
Nice improvisation.

Re: Big Type lV Build 3.1L
I would have cut them down to length first, that would went a long way to stopping the chatter...
