Type 4 case dimensions

Post by -Alex77- »

I am finishing my first desing on Type 4 billet heads and rockers. I am missing only some case + lifter dimensions to finish rocker geometry, can somebody help me?

-Case deck height?

-Crank and cam distance?

-Lifter length?

None of those dimensions you asked for will be exactly the same on any two engine cases. They are all "close" from the factory...when new....but at this late age...almost all cases need to be decked where teh cylinder bases sit...if they have not been already. That changes crank and cam distance. The lifters..I can get you a basic measurement...but they vary from manufacturer to manufacture......and stock cam and lifter parts are virtually worthless and rarely used anymore.

I am not sure why you need those measurements to design a head. Those are what are adjusted for when setting deck height and rocker geometry and are adjusted with each build...always. I would simply look at a stock head that has not been fly-cut and the basic dimensions to work with. Ray
