I see your going with straight cuts, I ran a set for a year in my 914, a daily driver, and the best thing I ever did was to take them out. The 1st month was ok, the 2nd month I was starting to re-think the straight cuts, going into the 3rd month, these things had to go.

Over time,the whinnnning just gets to you, and it muffles the sounds of the motor, so issues you would normally catch are covered up by the whining.

I've been running straight cuts in my 2.8 twin plug for years (same set) , I don't really notice a whine , maybe I've been fortunate ,
but then again it's not a daily driver , maybe I'm to busy enjoying the drive to hear the whine , I take it out once- twice a month
for a drive (weekend therapy ) , Being that this is a turbo motor I think I'm going to hear other noises like bov,waste gate
ect. , thank you Bill D.
