It's not worth it. You might as well go with a crank-trigger ignition system, which is why people go distributorless. You want to eliminate the amount of play which is inherent in a shaft drive, not just have programmability. Ever notice how your timing jumps around with a timing light? This can translate to 2-3 degrees of timing inaccuracy throughout the rev range. Crank-trigger systems are accurate to 0.1 deg. I seem to remember.
