Improvised Kadron Velocity Stack Screen
For less than $2 each, Walmart sells a humble steel mesh drain screen that just happens to exactly fit the wide-mouth (4.5") Kadon velocity stack. Because it fits down inside the stack, it's less likely to be bent or crushed that a dome-type screen.
The screen can be held in place by triangulated Pop-Rivets on the upper rim, or by plastic door edging binding the velocity stack and screen edging together.
There exist better, manufactured Kad stack covers that act as both debris screen and air filter, but for the bucks-down racer, the Walmart screen is very handy.
