Throttle Bodies too big???

Post by nic »

Hi
I'm running a 2332cc motor with a fk10 cam in a split bus. I have a cb fuel injection set up on cb wedge port heads 44mm 37mm.
I have two questions I need to work through!

1-The throttle bodies are 48mm as thats the only size cb did back then, are they to big? Should be aiming for 40mm ones?

2- If a 40 or a 45 is better can I sleve the throttle bodie to tye right size and changebtge butterfly?

 Thanks nic

Hi Nic,

As a rule, the smaller throttle bodies are better for the street. Those 48mm bodies were made for drag racing.

Any good machine shop can make a restrictor insert. You'd have to take them the TB's to work from.

On a big bus engine, I'd want 36mm openings.
