Above: Our improvised oil strainer -- but the sink version is better.
Hi Helowrench,
Yes, we ran the improvised venturi screens both hump-up and hump-down. No detectable change in power. But, hump-up gets flattened and bent easily. Of course, not everyone has a mechanic on the team nicknamed The Hammer.

Re: Kitchen Sink Strainer Oil Screen
I think IKEA has similar ones.
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

Hi Risk, risk wrote:Built an oil pickup screen out of a kitchen Pedestal Sink strainer!
I have an old APRM case, so my oil pickup is a little different than stock. Sump is Scat 1.5 qt.
Started with a cheap stainless steel sink strainer.
Flattened out the edges, drilled some holes and cut out for my oil pickup.

Fits great, I just hope it doesn't leak! I used a thick gasket on each side, and a thin coat of sealant on both sides of the gaskets.

apply sealent on both side is great idea to prevent it from leakage.
