Post by fredybear »

No more Click, Click, Click, Start.

10 clicks and than it would turn over, down to 5 clicks and now zero. What Happened?

Changed starter, same thing.

Help,, popped the plug on the ignition and tried to hot wire it and got nothing also... crappy new beetles. :D

install a relay to starter with a 15 amp fuse. you'll forget you ever had a problem.

Left side under the back seat, look for a 10 gauge wire that disappears through the tunnel wall. There will be a plastic insulator about a foot back on that wire connecting it to another 10 gauge wire coming from the wire harness. The insulator will have a brass connector inside. Cut the wires out of the connectors and splice them together with a yellow butt connector, this should remove the resistance in the #50 start circuit and eliminate the click, click.
