No more Click, Click, Click, Start.
10 clicks and than it would turn over, down to 5 clicks and now zero. What Happened?
Changed starter, same thing.
Help,, popped the plug on the ignition and tried to hot wire it and got nothing also... crappy new beetles.

install a relay to starter with a 15 amp fuse. you'll forget you ever had a problem.

Left side under the back seat, look for a 10 gauge wire that disappears through the tunnel wall. There will be a plastic insulator about a foot back on that wire connecting it to another 10 gauge wire coming from the wire harness. The insulator will have a brass connector inside. Cut the wires out of the connectors and splice them together with a yellow butt connector, this should remove the resistance in the #50 start circuit and eliminate the click, click.
