EJ25 in my 55
I have posted up my 55 on this site a few time with the type 4 but i finally went to the dark side. After spending way too much time and money on my type 4 i finally sold it and did a suby swap. Its a sohc ej25 with sti rods/pistons and a t3/t4 60 trim compressor and 63 stage 3 exhaust wheel. Anyway after working all the megasquirt bugs out its finally running pretty damn good. I ordered a meth injection kit and as soon as i install it im goin to the dyno and not leaving until im making 300 wheel. Ive allready got it street tuned on 7 psi and it already hauls ass. I have about 2,500 in the whole thing and i sold the type 4 for alot more so im pretty happy. Anyway here are some pics and feel free to ask questions. Oh and it all fits under the decklid!!!

Good to see you on here! I looked for you at Bugorama but didn't see you. That thing sounds really mean, saw your vids on YouTube. Do you have an LSD? Have you posted on German Look? They'd love to see you...

Clean and and smooth just the way I like them. I am building a 1972 Ghia at the moment and hope to start a build page soon, first I have to sell a s10 and a zx600 if anyone is interested?... Im in Ohio. But seriously I envy a finished project. Congrats. Also what transmission are you running and what kind of mpg are you getting?

there are a lots of build pics on webshots.com http://community.webshots.com/user/bgfr ... =community
All of the, "the oval" albums are of this car. Although, "the drivetrain" pics are from the big typeIV it had before.
I love the closed decklid pic Jeff!

Went to the strip on wendsday night. Besides the fact that it was literally 112 degrees out it went pretty well. Managed four runs without breaking!!! Downside was intake temps were out of controll. I kept turning up the boost with no increase in trap speed so i was pretty much just pumping hotter air into the poor motor.
Anyway, managed a 12.2 at 115 mph. I really wanted an 11 and im pretty sure it would have done it if the air was a little cooler. And i was on street tires and 91 octane gas so im pretty happy. Im probably gonna take the heads off port them and get some cams next. I think it might be time to tear the car back apart and actually paint the thing. Im also considering a 915 tranny. Also thinking about putting the radiator in front and getting an intercooler back. So many plans and no time or money.......
And the vid

nice vid matey and I LOVE the car. great work.
Sorry if I sound over the top but, DUDE YOU NEED AN INTERCOOLER!
I was surprised you ever built it without one when I first saw your pics up top. Meth injection can help, but not nearly as much as an intercooler. The other short term thing to do is to run a small shot of nitrous as an intercooling agent.
And yes, the front of the car is a great place for the radiator. Box in the spare tyre bay and cut a small scoop into the bottom of the lowest panel. Then vent the radiator over the beam through a few holes.
Why do you need a 915 box? The type one box should be fine as long as the gearing is good and it's built properly. The turbo's torque will allow you to take advantage of more widely spaced gearing than an atmo motor would.

If you go with a 915, this link has some good info with regards to fitting it all under the body, although you will have it easier with the SOHC heads...

I'm going with a G50, more of a fit and forget part but it does involve a hell of a lot more work!
