You mean a 930 4 speed is shorter than a Subarugears 5 speed, right?
Not 5 speed to 5 speed.

Yes Todd, I already had the 930 which is 4 speed, for use at Pikes Peak. According to Rons measurements it is 1/2 cm shorter than the Subaru.

Re: 912+STi v8 Spec-C motor
The only time the Porche 930 came with a 5 speed was in 89 and that is a G50-50 box which are pretty rare. The 4 speed 930 box did pretty well in the turbo 930 so it will be fine for the bug. It also saves me almost 20% of the cost of the new Pikes Peak car if I can pull it's purchase.

Ron where did you get your feed from to oil your turbo? Was it just from the stock location?

panel,
sorry for the delay. yes, im using stock location. the AVCS and the turbo feed on mine share a banjo fitting. I had to use a special banjo that is tapped for the head (some weird pitch count) and AN on the other side. i got it from IAPerformance iirc. then just ran appropriate AN hose to the turbo. return is into the sump pain so make sure you get your turbo high enough so you dont end up needing a pump.

Been autocrossing and flogging the car which really identifies many issues and weaknesses. Rear sway bar installed to control front Right wheel lift on hard Right turns. The sessions are only 60 seconds at best so it really doesn't stress the cooling system. Did some track 'testing' this weekend for the first time and I must say, the suby took the abuse like a champ and the trans was awesome. Will have to figure out how to divert more air flow to the WAIC radiator in the engine bay but ive got an idea for that Anyway, here is a vid

Re: 912+STi v8 Spec-C motor
So after everything, would you do it again? I've had my 66 912 for some time and been through many different engines but feel like I would like to do this conversion and call it a done (if there ever really is such a thing). I like the reliability factor, and ease of getting some parts. So would you do it again?
