Looks like a real good start to me too. I would probably run that, but I'm not pushing nearly the horses or tq you are.

I've only done a few diffs, and never in a transaxlemission. They can be a real PITA to get right. The guys that do it a-lot develop the "eye" for the pattern, takes practise. And yes, one adjustment effects the other.

Hope Todd chimes in, I'd like to hear his thoughts.

update:
I want to get the trans in this winter. Not that the Bay Area gets that cold in winter but I’m a pussy. I decided to start while the gettin is good. I knew I’d be pulling the motor and trans in and out repeatedly to take care of interference and to mock up the rear support and doing this all my self would be quit a chore. Instead, I sourced a dead case that a rod had tried to escape at speed. With that and a disassembled trans case, I found the areas on the seat hump that needed massaging with a precision big fuckin hammer. After an hour or so of getting out my aggression, I was able to locate were the new hole for the shift rod would enter the cab. The original 901 shifter is in the 6 o’clock position while the suby unfortunately is in the 11 o’clock position and has to go over the torsion tube. Anyway, got it mostly mocked up but still need a few more love taps to be “perfect.”

Glad you are moving forward. It keeps me from wanting to buy your transmission! Looks great.

Looks great! I'm envious of how shiny your transmission case is. I've spent countless hours cleaning mine and it's nowhere close to that.

thanks guys. wish i had more time to work on it.
-got a chance to fabricate and finalize my rear mount and used the stock porsche mount in the stock location and just weld on 80mm spacer to bolt the tranny to.
-buttoned up the trans with new seals, confirm my shim thickness, confirm back lash, installed the factory LSD, used the yamabond to close her up and finally attached the subaflange to it.
-will run the stock starter and stock suby clutch slave (.813" bore btw)
-got oem flywheel bolts and oem motor case to trans bolts and will bolt the two together and reinstall in a few days.
-bailed on trying to fit a small clutch master to work with my oe pedal cluster and will just run a Tilton 600 series 3 pedal cluster and mount everything in a nice tidy package together.

-FOR SALE: need to sell my suby to 901 adapter stuff so if there are any 912 lurkers keeping the 901. Adapter plate/adapter flywheel/stage II pp and clutch. <1000 miles. new $1200, your for $900 obo + shipping and pp fees.

The adapter wouldn't also work on a 914?
(Lots more 914s...)
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

yet, you are correct, it would work on a 914 and i will post on 914world too but most guys installing subaru motors into 914s are going with the suby trans at the same time since its such and easy combo (no reverse ring/pinion swap) that many don't bother keeping the 901. a guy there is even mass producing a cradle that bolts both the trans and the motor to the stock motor/trans mount locations.

Received an order of OEM hardware to bolt the flywheel and pressure plate and clutch disc alignment tool as well as proper bolts for the transaxle to motor. Bolted everything together and slide everything back in place. Needed to trim here and there around the stock suby starter and for the stock suby clutch slave. Looks like she was born there. Made a little adapter to connect the Subaru shift rod to the Wevo shift coupler so I can use the Porsche shift rod (will likely need to be shortened slightly though). I’ll start on the pedestool for shift tower soon. Started in next project…new Tilton 3 pedal cluster for hydraulic clutch and improved braking biasing. Need to make a run to get some material and start fabricating!

got the pedestool built for the shift tower. forgive the amateur al welds but it'll work.
mounted.

got pedal cluster mounted to al base and mounted to the floor board.
20131117-102933.jpg
modified the shift rod to be slightly shorter and angled at as it enters the shift tower so its a flat angle to avoid binding. she's cleaning up well.

time to order 930 CV's so i can take measurements for axle lengths to the 912 CV and have Sway Away make a pair for me.

Looking good! I was considering the Tilton or Wilwood 3 pedal cluster as well, haven't decided which way to go yet. Nice to see you can make it fit.
