Re: 68 Ghia WRX
Any chance of getting the earlier pictures back? All the older picture links are dead.

Re: 68 Ghia WRX
A while back there was a system upgrade that caused all of the picture links to break. I asked the admin about this and there wasn't much they were able to do. On my build thread, I ended up going back in and redoing all of the photos.

I can't bring myself to attempt such a feat as Surfbeetle but here's a link to a Flickr album with almost all the photos I've taken over the years. They are in no particular order but each one supposedly says a thousand words...

Yeah, it was a bit of a pain but at the time, my build thread was the highest viewed thread with sixty thousand + views and I figured it would help everyone who was interested in doing a conversion.

Looks like you've gone through a couple of changes with your crank pulleys and you header tanks ?

Re: 68 Ghia WRX
Yeah...I wish I had a better reason for changing both of those items but truthfully, I swapped out the spendy crank pulley to color match the well overpriced throttle body that I changed so I could fab a better throttle pulley. The ridiculously overpriced header tank was just to de-clutter the engine bay a bit. Fact, for the price of the Cobb crank pulley, Boomba throttle body and Killer B upper coolant tank I could buy a full JDM Ej20. And none of those item really add any performance! I could almost build a second car with all the parts I've swapped

Re: 68 Ghia WRX
Revisited my scoop design to tie in with my new radiator position. I still have over 4 inches of clearance which gets me above the legal speed bump height. Should be fine as long as I don't brake too late. Not really a fan of where my hood pin cables are so that will get another go. My two little girls call her "the speedy car")

Why did I think your front end had less fender gap ?

Re: 68 Ghia WRX
Maybe you saw my car while I was braking hard with a full tank of fuel. That entire gap disappears real fast! I have a set of shredded tires laying around that gave their lives so I could determine when to stop trimming. The issue is wide tires. I had to add wheel spacers to get more steering so now the tires sit slightly outside the fender lip. I take function over form in situations like this.

There is some basic info in this thread. Let me know if you meant something else. I haven't had any issues with my set up.

Re: 68 Ghia WRX
Finally in paint! My first go at it so I have some runs to deal with and extensive orange peel. I'll probably get around to removing that in a few more years...I widened the front fenders just enough to deal with the 235's. I'll go down to 225's on the next set to be safe.
