What Transmission other than a Bus Trans will Work with an ECOTEC

So I am going to use an ECO TEC 2.4L engine in my bug 'OR' a new sand rail project. I'm only thinking of the sand rail for the opportunity to put in a modern manual transmission easier because I can account for it before welding up the frame. Getting it to fit in the bug is preferred however.

Anyone put in a transmission other than a bus transmission for an ECO TEC? I've got the same question into AlphaFab as well as I was going to use them for conversion materials and supplies necessary. I was hoping someone has already done it and can offer pointers and lessons learned not just theory.

090 automatic... I guess that's still a Bus transmission, but it can be modded to take a blown V8 if desired.
You'd have to spend stupid$$$ on a Medeola or such to match the HP the automatic can take.
(mind, you can spend ~as much on the Automatic if looking to put down 700++HP)

If you can find one the 4/5 speed transaxles out of a Jeep Eagles are Renault UN1 bits, good for ~400++ HP.
