What would this be worth? It's been on the ground for several years.... Not mine, owner desperate to sell. :)

In Cali. This is considered a core transmission. As NO ONE knows it's internal condition. They are worth between 100 and 300 bucks in SoCal IF you can find a buyer.
I have 5 more of em if you need more cores..... I have purchased many of those for 75 - 100 bucks.

In other areas of the US. Core transmission can be worth more. How much more??? I have no idea.

Except for first gear... IIRC rated for 250 ft/lbs torque, but have been used extensively w/V8s on them, it's all about how you ab^^use it.

Some factory racers pushing or exceeding that had external gear oil pump setups to improve reliability and keep temps down, probably a good idea.

It is a Porsche part so as Nate noted, replacement parts are Por$che pricey, although they are far easier to actually work on than VW transmissions.(few>no weird $$pecial tools or jigs)
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.
