I had 44 itbs on my 1600 when I switched to ITB mode I liked it alot. I had better pedal resolution.

Because ITB's have poor vacuum as the throttle opens, it's difficult for the ECU to calculate load in Speed-Density mode. What ITB mode does is it tells the ECU to switch from Speed-Density to Alpha-N when the MAP rises above a certain percentage of barometric pressure and you are also above a certain throttle percentage. This allows it sense load with MAP at low throttle openings for good drivability but still be drivable at large throttle openings when MAP is unreliable.

ITB Mode is function in the Megasquirt ecus, which models has it etc I'm not the right person to say. Pile will know. :)
