 Post subject: rear discs on a irs rear can you use ones for a type 1

i am looking at some discs for my early notch (with irs)
for a type 1 (empi brand)
1- are they any good (do they stop better than drums)
2- do they fit
3- handbrake cables, how much to short and can they be lengthend (or remaid)
any help would be apprectiated

No knowledge of that brand but I have "T1" discs on the back of my IRS notch. The cables need a longer outer sheaf but I'll have the go look at what I made for the length. T3 rear drums are pretty dang good except for a "more serious" application.

Type III stuff is pretty comparable to Porsche 944 discs in my experience...just without the added benefits of style and no more brake adjustments. BTW, Porsche stuff is a bolt-on affair, but it increases the trackwidth substanially and the "E-brake" is pathetic, I'd only consider it a parking brake.
