Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

Why the flexpipe? Is there a hanger for the muffler side?
Looks great tho.

The flexpipe is to hopefully take the ~20 lbs the muffler weighs off the exhaust studs and allow for engine rocking.
There shouldn't be much if any rotation going on: Just as well as the flexpipe can't twist.
Muffler sits just under the rubber crossbar mount supported by a hanger.

I may yet add some support off the motor mounts for the headpipes, but just effectively ditching the large heavy thing at the end of a long lever should help.

Schweet!

You are in the same boat as myself-
Way Overdue for a Build Thread. :)

So, really, you kinda build the combo around the exhaust.
Esp. when it's an unobtanium combo like T4-T3...

Here, it seems like, due to the diameters of the primaries,
That 42 x 36 would be the limit on valve size?

No sense in putting in anything bigger,
Regardless of other parameters, right?
Speedier than a Fasting Bullet!

There's really no point going bigger than 44x38 in almost any case, based on Jakes/HAMs work, and 36 or even 34 may work better for various reasons.

1 1/2" primaries are fine for 99% of applications, and at least the Bursch is a quality piece.
(still not a fan of the EMW pipes QC, but they're workable...)

This setup should work on a bay bus just peachy too : :P

I'd consider 38s on a 1 1/2" pipe to possibly allow for faster blowdown at initial lift.

OT: I'm still trying to figure out if I can stick the bus tube gas heater over/by the trans... T1 trans went back in today, w/944 axles etc, the Bus trans fit but made the tin a PITA, and the engine/trans sat at an angle.

I should probably concern myself more with getting it running than the heater, its ~100 F here and I'm working outdoors.

Do you need to extend the EMW pipes to use the Sebring style exhaust too? I want to do something like this on my notch.

Probably.
(I only have a couple Bursch systems to check against)

As shown in the pic, the center of the header tucks up closely to the trans in a 914.

It would probably work great with upright cooling, but the Bursch at least will hit the stock fan shroud on a T4.

Adding the "extensions" took about 5 minutes and a sawzall BTW...
