electric cabin heater

i'm not wanting to use the factory heating air from the engine to heat the cabin of a Porsche 356....has anyone used the 600 Watt electric heaters that have recently become available for heating the cabin? i live in the UK, but probably won't use the car on very frosty mornings. Or, must i go to the expense of a petrol-fired Webasto 2kW heater.

I would look at what the Germans use , I believe to pass German MOT (TUV) They need to have a working heater,

at least that was how it was years ago......
