The heat wasn't the issue. Having time was the biggest issue. Working 20 hours of overtime a week doesnt leave much time or energy to work on the bug. Although it does leave some money!
I think I will go with the bolt since that one was "x2"ed by herbie... Hopefully I will take it for a spin tonight...
I didn't realize how much rotational force is applied to those pivot bolts with 3x3 arms. I never had a problem with the stock arms, but with the 3x3 arms, its a PITA to keep those bolts tight. I welded a piece of tube over the bolt head and put a 1/4 X 20 bolt through it to make sure the pivot bolts couldn't back out. What happened was the pivot bolts back out and hit the safety bolts, and then kept backing out and actually bent the safety bolts. I then had a heck of a time getting those bolts out because they were bent and the pivot bolts were right up tight against them. This all happened after only about 100 miles. After that, I put the pivot bolts in with red lock tight, tightened them in with the impact gun, and then I put grade 8 washers on top of the pivot bolt head to act as shims and then put aircraft grade bolts through as safety stops so the pivot bolts can only back out about 1/4 turn before being stopped. It only took about 50 miles, and the shims are no longer loose, but at least the safety bolts aren't bent this time

The passenger side hasn't loosened at all and the same wire that failed on the driver's side is holding up just fine on the other side. I think it may have something do with the arm on that side, or maybe even the pivot itself. Either way, I want to make sure this doesn't happen again...
I replaced the bushing as well when I welded in the new bung. Maybe it was binding and loosening that other bolt?
In the end. I will have a bolt in there. and maybe safety wire too. I will post up my results...
