Re: Joxracing's 1966 Baja.
wow, its been a few months!
ive been crazy busy with school, football(We made playoffs! were 6-2, pretty good, since our last 2 seasons were 0-9)
ive also been wheeling the ford, working on the rally car, and picked up a new quad.
Wheeling the ford
The new YFZ450r
The rally car in the autos shop.
And i dont belive i ever put up the mud drag pictures, the bug did awesome. (im in the white t-shirt)
the updates on the bug:
there isnt any. ive been super busy with all of that, and its still sitting in my backyard waiting for its total makeover, which will happen when deer season is over.

deer season...
I got a 4 point last week with my 68' F250
bent the front bumper and the grill a little...

Re: Joxracing's 1966 Baja.
alrightt...
currently working on my f-150 (doing mild long travel, etc) in the autos shop, but im getting really anxious to yank the baja out of the snow and start working on it at home.
i need to know what kind of carb this is, and where i can get a rebuild kit and an air cleaner.
-someone said that if the gasket between the to parts is good, i dont need one. but i dont really know much about carb performance, and this one has been sitting, so idk about jets, venturi's, etc. its clean though....
thanks, oh...
and if anyone has heater channels laying around, i no longer have one on the right side, and the left is about to fall off also, so if you want to donate to a poor kid, i'll gladly pay for shippping!!
im back STF....

2BBL Rochester??
Here's the easy way...take it to Napa and ask for a rebuild kit and any tips they know of. Napa has the most knowledgeable guys at the counter IMO.

I don't always show my signature. But when I do, it's in this area.

looks a little like the Webber DFEV that I had on my old Baja. It had those square butterflies and that football shaped top. No markings on it?

Sound advice. All carbs have serial #s and manufacturer stamped on 'em. Take the carb with you.Big Dave wrote: Here's the easy way...take it to Napa and ask for a rebuild kit and any tips they know of. Napa has the most knowledgeable guys at the counter IMO.

i will bring it over there and have them check it out, hopefully i can get a rebuild for it.
also, i think im gonna take all the glass out of the bug except windsheild., now that i have the truck, i really dont need a "cushy" type wheeling rig, so now i can take the glass out and cage it!

Well, pulled it out of the woods. its getting ready to get a rebuild. new engine, taking body off, roll cage, possible a-arm front suspension... all built on junkyard budget, like usual.
What are the bennefits of running no glass windows in the car, besides windsheild? i see a lot of you guys running that.

less weight is why i pulled all of the glass but the windshield.... but i keep it in my shop, no way i'm leaving it in the woods.
plus w/o the glass its easier to work on stuff back there....

Heck, I thought it was just to give more options to get out when it's upside down on the trail
