Heads up, saw something for sale.

Offroad VW based vehicles have problems/insights all their own. Not to mention the knowledge gained in VW durability.

Heads up, saw something for sale.

Post by Lotrat »

So I have a deal going with a few of my buddies. If we see a deal on something, we let the group know. I saw an ad for a guy that wanted to trade a boat for a large CC VW motor. I know a guy with motors used as paper weights. So I let him know.

I saw a guy giving away a gas tank for next to nothing and I knew another guy looking for one. Keeps the VW karma up.

Anyways, just wondering if it's worth keeping a thread going. Post and delete as you see fit. The free stuff thread got too big and wasn't maintained by the posters.

Anyways... here's what I saw in San Diego (Craigs list) today. If only I had more space. The guy is asking $450. Just a heads up...

Note that Sandblaster 913 tire is called that because that is its size. It's a 9.00-13. It's about 31 inches tall. They were popular in the 70s on racers in the 1200cc old Class 9. Class 9 then was just like the 1600 buggy class became later except the engines were required to be 40 horse 1200s with a 28mm carb. I have an old pair of Bridgestone Alligator 9.00-13s off of one of those cars.

Interisting long back rail for sale for 100 spack-er-roos!. Not sure on it being K&L or BJ but not hard to change. The wifie-poo won't let me get it because of the black buggy still being here.

I think the bottom pix is a discussion about it at TOS.

Was at my local Oreilly's and they had their 7" and 4" HIDs on sale. 7" for 99.99 and 4" for 79.99. Pretty good discount for those.

Nice old car. Not really a Chenowth in spite of the front bumper and the hood. You might note they don't fit that great. This is a short back frame as built by Sand Toys and a thousand others. Mine in 1977 was from Johnny's Speed & Chrome. It has a diagonal in the cage like a racer, though I've never seen one of these chassis at a SCORE race or any other race. No reason not to use them, just haven't seen it. Only class a Ball Joint/Swingaxle would fit into would be Class 9. this would work for that.

I've seen this car for sale before, maybe a couple of years ago. Same pics I think. Appears to be a much better car than a lot I see in that price range.

Hi all!
My neighbor at my condo complex has a 70 Stock Beetle for sale. $4000. If anyone is interested, I can get pics. Has a good running 1600 and is completely stock. He says it could use a paint job...I think it looks fine.
