Topic of the Day...

Offroad VW based vehicles have problems/insights all their own. Not to mention the knowledge gained in VW durability.

Energy drinks!!!!!

Warren will be in a 5-1600 racing in 5-Open. Hope the boys in the Open cars won't get too embarrassed. Warren raced a 5-Open before, so he knows what's up. And the team has won a 5-Open Championship with a 5-16 before. If they finish, they'll beat 2/3 of the class or more.

Left sd at 4am got to primm at around 9 I think. Not sure. Did some prep on the truck. First lap was good went very smooth. Second we broke a dry sump belt on a dry lakebed. That took about 45 minutes out. Then 2nd time around in the main pit we had a long pit finding some electrical issues. With charging and lights.
I went home after that got home around 1am. Looks like we got 27th out of 60 so not bad.

Had a really good time and it was a fun experience. Hopefully I get a chance to do it again.
On a side note I'm really out of shape cuz I can barely walk because of standing for so long yesterday.

It looks like 5092, Mark Winston, got 4th in 5-Open after some engine trouble. Warren was in the car about 1/2 the race.

I have wanted one for a long time and looked into purchasing one in the past but was not in the position to prices have gone through the roof and don't know if I would get the chance again. This is a bit of a project but I think I can handle it there are a few parts I am going to need to source from overseas to get it where I want it.

Bigger wheels and tires with the axle in a small diameter brass tube from Hobby Lobby... super glued to the bottom. I filed a small notch for the tube to rest in.
