Wrisley's Buggy

Offroad VW based vehicles have problems/insights all their own. Not to mention the knowledge gained in VW durability.

With any AN [sic] fitting being AL, the loading on the threaded area is the problem; the threaded areas being the weakest part of them. If you have a hose hanging and flexing; e.g., unsupported hose, the loads going to the straight or angled fitting you could put undue stress on the threads. Most of the failures I have seen with AN fittings is in the threaded area.

It will be relocated. It's going to be mounted on the bars just "behind" the cell in the rear window area (same bar that the green sticker is on).

They do nice work. They're also located about a mile from my house and are in the building I used to work in.

Got more work done today. Added a welder to the garage so that makes things happen a lil faster. Fuel cell saddle is done. Tonight, fabbed up the new radiator mount in its new location. Billet alum clamps, 1 inch tube, and 3/16 flat stock. Turned out pretty cool...

Fuel cell with radiator in place. Great clearance. Should work out pretty nice. She should get some cool air now! Not sure how I feel about the shroud and fan. I guess we'll have to see how she does.

Plumbing both the radiator and fuel cell start Saturday. You're all welcome to come drink my beer and laugh at me cussing at hoses. Got a fresh Bosch 044 fuel pump, new pre and post filters and all new braided fuel line. Lets get it on...
