Bus clutch connection w/o using the Bowden Tube

Offroad VW based vehicles have problems/insights all their own. Not to mention the knowledge gained in VW durability.

Bus clutch connection w/o using the Bowden Tube

Post by Ol'fogasaurus »

I forgot who was asking about it but I did say I would take some pictures of the method of connection to the clutch release arm on an bus (in this case an 091) w/o using a Bowden tube that I used.

This is the clutch cable (the lower one. The upper one is the throttle cable) as it comes out of the tunnel. This is where the Bowden tube would connect. Since the trans it taller the angle of the cable may have been too great/wrong angle using the Bowden tube.

This is where the clutch cable connects to the stock threaded rod for the clutch cross-shaft lever. I wrapped it back then pinned it with two clamps. I don’t think one would have held well or for long.

This shows the angle of the cable and shaft to the shifter arm.
