I have a bin of 4-lug brake drums you can have. Some even have studs! Got them from Mike A a few years ago and I'm still kicking them around my garage. I hear 2019 is all about the classic 4 lug look.

You're a gentleman Lotrat. However, ive already been able to acquire 5 lug drums with pressed in studs no less.

This is todays haul. The FREE part of this demands explanation. I got trailer axles with brakes, springs, wheels and tires from a buddy who was about to toss them. Another friend was prepping to build a flatbed and was tripping over:

002 box with 930 flanges
5-1600 arms with 930 stubs
SAW axles
SAW torsions and spring plates
And even some cast "extended" link pin arms and spindles!


Unfortunately the latches on the Smurf doors(1974) dont line up with the strikers on the body(1969 or so I was told) So, come cutting welding or door trading might be in my future...

Chuck you're quite the gentleman with the wheels as well, but I have two good 5 lug rears, and at least two five lug stock wheels for the front.

It'd be cool to find fronts to match the rears, but not necessary jist yet.

Good news! Guess who found a 2332 with big valve heads, a custom cam, 11.5 to 1 comp long block for freee!?

Kidding.

But! I did get a "said to be running" 1641 long block in exchange for a promise to keep an eye out for VW decklids!

Now find the rest of it. Carb, manifolds, dizzy, tin, flywheel clutch etc.

If I get lucky trading the parts that came with this car that counts as free right? ... or what if I trade for beer? Does that count?

Lol. I know its rediculous Herb. Honestly this was supposed to be a trash collection. All my vw buds have come through with too nice of stuff. Im more than a little embarrassed by the generosity.

Ill hit you up to buy some of your good parts once I start upgrading. Im too close at this point to piecing together a free car. I have to see it through at this point.
