Engine number

hey guys, above the 1st and 2nd cylinders is this number 000 101 102 with 2BR written above it. Is this the number i need? Thanks for all your help

if your looking for your engine number it will be stamped on the oil fill houseing

ohh on the oil fill tube there is the VW symbol and 2c. does this mean i have a type 2 engine? thanks for all your help

Your gettin' warmer! look down Its stamped on the case not on the stand, unlike previously posted. I have a type 3 block and it's #'s are on the top passenger side case half(viewable from above), up by where the halves meet.
If you don't find a number then its possible the case was replaced at one time or another.

Does anyone have a resource to ID a case with the serial or ID numbers? Looking to by a used AS41 and would like to find out any specifics I can.

Ok, here are the #'s for the two I am looking at. The first case is AD133152, the other case is OH5383371.

I have 2 cases like these that have the numbers 000 101 101 2Br on it.. one case also has Brazil. There is no numer below the generator stand or anywhere else that I have been able to find. All I have been told about the cases is that they are brazilian made and should be in good shape for building a 1776 or 2110.
