Re: type 4 turbo 2.0L
Found a $et early on
For how ugly it looked. I seperated the case and its nice inside. There was no sludge or signs of abuse or water damage.
In the beginning I mostly fudged with the tins so I could start with the intake design.
Going to try and use a the Cali conversion to see what it can handle. If it doesnt work with the mods I have planned then Im gunna pony up and throw on a porsche shroud.

The 914 manifolds I cut the tops off and Milled them flat. Same with the carb manifolds.

Next I made the base plate
I didnt want to have velocity stacks so I put a nice radius on the plate itself.

next was the plentums. As a general rule from what I gathered while researching they should be about 1.5 to 2 times the displacement. So I made them 1.5L a piece.
Heres one example of what I read.

Next I created some end caps. Im trying my best to keep the air from having any walls or objects to hit throughout the system.
I ported the inside tube to get rid of the hard edge. This will help prevent eddys
Heres an example of what happens.

Went to the junk yard and got some goodies.
60 mm throttle body off a naturally aspirated 2.5 L Acura.
BOV is off a Mazda
Intercooler came from an Audi

Heres the intercooler bit
I rounded theses off as well. Otherwise a bottlenecking effect of the eddys will occur.

I managed to swipe this off the audi as well. Looks like its just what the doctor ordered to get the throttle body around the shroud and be the same dia as the throttle plate.

Re: type 4 turbo 2.0L
Im kind of at a stand still, i need to buy a turbo and header tubes. The headers not a problem.
Based off my calculations I ended up with a 2.36:1 pressure ratio at 24.7 lbs/min at 6500 rpm.
At 2500 rpm I ended up with a 1.35 pressure ratio at 6.38 lbs/min.
I found this Garret turbo to be suitable.

Which is the same thing as this.

What do you guys think about the turbo?

Has anyone used the GT2560R or S15-SR20DET turbo before?
