I just wish there was a site that could tell you the specs on the 044 pump as to what HP levels it can safely handle. Maybe if I can find the specs on the pump, I can mess with the various calculators out there and get a ball park # for what it can handle.

Some of the HP claims on that site seem a bit exaggerated (based on the tested flow), but 600 HP is a common claim made for the 044.

Im running stock fuel tank on my 71 standard with a half inch line running to a red horse fuel filter. Running from that is a half inch line running to a Holley Red fuel pump all with Red Horse performance fittings. Running out of the fuel pump is a 3/8" aluminum line that has two hard line Red Horse performance fittings on both ends. Im running the 3/8" line into a steel braided 1/2" line running to my 350CFM Holley carb. I haven't run my motor yet but I don't think the fuel system will be an issue. My motor is a 1776cc motor with a 16T Turbo system.

Here is my new setup. Walbro inline pump, and bigger fuel filter. This will be enough for a 65-70lb base pressure with no manifold reference to 20lbs of boost with the ID1000's. I will also be logging fuel pressure to make sure that stays in check.

Jason, you ALWAYS find the best links w the kind of data I'm looking for. That site was the info I needed to see to place an order for the Bosch 044 pump. I also ordered the A1000 regulator.

I'm having a hell of a time running my stainless lines. This 3/8ths line is tough stuff. I've got the feed line 92% done, but the return line should go faster as I learn what not to do with feed line.

Can't wait to be done w this part of the job. ;)

Plumbing is best done right the first time. You'll be happy with all the headaches you save from yourself down the road.

Are you using a VDO oil P sensor for Fuel Pressure?

No, just a gauge at the reg. I am putting in a 100psi 0-5 volt transducer for logging though.

Of course we'll need the part number, vendor, and how you plan on wiring this up. 8)

Sounds like a great idea, I know when tuning I am always wondering what the fuel pressure was when I see something weird going on. Would be nice to take FP out of the tuning equation when you hit the higher boost levels too. Would suck to tune around non linear dropping fuel pressure.

You running MS 2 or 3 these days?

Wally runs a VDO oil pressure sensor in his fuel system and logs that value.

No pics right now, but I will get some and add them to this thread. I have a sump off of the bottom of the tank like Capsoval did. 3/8 line down to a Carter 6psi high volume pump. 3/8 stainless line down the passenger side to the rear. Walbro GSL-392 pump in the rear. -6 to the fuel rails and pressure regulator then 3/8 stainless line down the drivers side back to the sump.

This is the best way that I have ever seen for adding on a sump to the factory tank. Thanks out to Capsoval for the great idea.

I gotta admit, I fought with it for a few nights and then said the hell with it. I cheated and took it to a professional hose and fitting shop here in Vegas. :D
