So a buddy is tearing down an AS21 case out of a 76 fuel injected type 1... everything was very crusty but the block might still be good. I am going to look at it in the morning hes getting $250 for it. Since I have to revisit all this "who shot john" I am thinking of selling the thick wall 88's which I would need to trim quite a bit to fit the 74 crank.
I am thinking of going with thick wall 92's to yield me a 1968cc engine with a static 9.1:1 compression on an W110(bug pack 4062)cam and no need to trim the piston skirts... I can then run premium in it until I get the chance to go with an inter-cooled E-85 setup. I am looking for a specific turbo though, and want some feedback.. Now that I am stuck buying another block, oil pump, rockers and machine work I am going to have to wait till next year to convert to forced induction. but with a 1968, blown through dual 36 dells what do you all think of a Borg K04-2275? I used 1968cc, .55bsfc, 8.5:1 E-85 AFR, 250 target HP, Redline 6K, peak power 5200, max boost 3200, min boost 2K. The map looks very good as per squirrel's calc but I still want some real world experience.
I cannot seem to find that turbo, or the cars it may have come on. I am also on the fence about getting a 30mm oil pump since doing all the hoover mods and feeding a turbo. What say you ShopTalk?!?

You don't need a 30 mm pump....go 26 mm max.

I am running a 1968cc 9.0:1 compression AA cylinders 1.4 ratio fuel injected and turbo. It is a dune buggy Manx style. I'm running a dry sump with 7 quarts of oil after chasing oil heating issues at freeway speeds. It cured everything and car runs great.

What cam?
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.
