I just drilled a hole in the stop on mine and put a small allen head bolt in it so I can turn it in and out to adjust the stop.

Yes, I did the same yersterday evening.
After testing still problems.
If I rev the engine at around 4000rpm it pops very hard from the exhaust. maybe its running to rich? anybody some idea's?
Also the sparkplugs from cil 1, 2, 3 are bit brown.. no 4 is still clean..
Or the old cilinders have oil problems @ 1,2,3, or we have some problems with the sparkplug or cable @ no 4..
The ignition setup comes from my perfect running 1600.. still I will change out the cables..

Mine pops when its lean, typically on decal. You could be pinging. Do you have an AFR gauge? Its pretty much a must have for running setups like this. That would tell you rather quickly what is going on, and I suggest getting one before any tuning is performed. If you are going lean up in the boost area (which it sounds like you are at ~4000rpm), you're gonna do some damage.Udo Airbus wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2017 11:09 pm If I rev the engine at around 4000rpm it pops very hard from the exhaust. maybe its running to rich? anybody some idea's?

I measured the CR and it was exact on all 4 cilinders: 8.3:1
Rockers are al ok.
I will order some new sparkplugs for now and yes will install my AFR gauge.
Thanks.

Any update on this? Interesting build so keen to read about latest developments wrt project.
How much boost you are running? Still on stock pistons?
Are there any 24mm pin 94mm forged pistons available? 96mm are but 94mm I haven't seen?

JE, Wiseco or Ross will make you a forged piston any way you like.
I suggest 4032 alloy if its not a trailered track queen.

Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

Thanks! not much to update.. busy with other things..
Still not running ok in high rev's, look like smaller venturi's will help.. Still thinking to convert to blow trough .. then i'm also able to run without turbo pressure.. (I think, at the moment my intake is too long..)
Yes , i'm running stock pistons..(budget build) we will see how long they will survive..

Have you actually installed it in the bus yet? Or are you just tuning it while free revving on your engine stand?

Udo.
I had my intake similar to yours with a long intake. I Couldn't get it to run right at all, tried everything. Took ages to start. Flat spot due to intake length , fuel puddle in bottom of turbo. Go blow through its much better. I will post a pick of mine, might give you some ideas.
