It almost seems a step backwards to increase leg pressure with a tiny disk.
200mm is good enough for formula 1. ;)

There is just so many more disks easily available at 200mm though is the plus

200mm discs fit all the later covers and flywheels.
Yeah some may call it overkill, but you can't have too much overkill.

To reinforce and clarify---
A hipo 200mm disk fits/works in a 210/215mm flywheel/PP combo just fine, and the 210 PP still provides more clamping force than many 200mm plates...

Kennedy can also "rebuild" a 210 PP to whatever specs you like, cheaper than a new one.

Its unfortunate they don't make low profile hipo 228mm pressure plates, the flywheel fits fine.

Did some small things yesterday night..

Adjusted the rockers (double check)
Put oil in the engine (thanks for my brother in law to bring some)
Finalised the intake from the turbo to the heads.

Fixed the wastegate.. it was stucked due to being abused on a 2.4 (with launch control)..and not used for 3 years now
It opened at 1.7 Bar  and now at 0.4 bar 8)

Next adjust the flywheel.. move the bearing from the crankshaft to the flywheel.. make oilcatch , finish the carb intake.. find a correct V belt.. and some toher small stuff

Well I tried to start the engine, but no succes.

Biggest problem is the starter.. it does not turn the engine fast enough.
I tried two and a very strong Battery, but no luck.

Anybody an Idea what starter I can use? (yes I can buy a strong on that fits)
Maybe from a different car?

Thanks.

ps with no sparkplugs all ok, oil pressure is ok.

The aftermarket geared starters seem to have issues, but every VW made in the last ~20 years has a high powered gear reduction starter, you can even get them for T1 from Bosch, new.

Notice how the motor isn't much bigger than the solenoid?
Its a permanent magnet motor, the gear reduction is a ~1/2" thick planetary set sandwiched in between the motor in the aluminum bit.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/VW-Beetle-Fastb ... wb&vxp=mtr

There is also the possibility of using a MK3/4 TDI or VR6 (both automatic) starter, one model has the required 9 tooth gear.
It needs some work with a file to bolt on, it is a 2KW unit rather than .7 KW.
Some of them seem to "kick on" before fully engaged, this will eat the ring gear, this can be fixed with some effort but the SR15N (new) is a sure bet.

There is also a PM/GR version of the VW T3 auto self supporting starter out there, 1.25KW, cant find the part# for sure.

Wauw thanks for the Quick reponse!
@ PeteW yes thats the first step

@ Piledriver, thanks! I was searching and I can order one in Netherlands for 143 euro. (164 dollar)
It the magnet version with 1.4 KW ..bolt on..

First I will ask my watercooled brother in law if he have some vr6 or Tdi starters.. otherwise I will buy the strong version if I get approval from my wife :D
