No big updates yet.. still searching for a affordable turbo.. possibly a TD05 ? or a T25..

After 3 engine cases I finally found one that's in perfect original shape

Also made myself an oil filler + dipstick and a crankcase breather on the distributor hole...

For a 2 liter engine with approximately 200bhp, alot of Mitsubishi TD04 framed turbo's would be more than enough. A smaller framed turbo will spool quicker and provide the low end torque you are looking for. The cam/engine combo should be just fine with such a turbo. The GT3076R would be way too large for your application (500+ bhp all day) and a GT25 is not only a bit too small, but also a quite old design.
Modern turbo's have larger compressor and turbine efficiency, which will result in lower backpressure and lower compressor temperatures.

Good luck,

Cheers Robin

I'm using the TD04L-13T from a 2002-2007 Subaru WRX/Forester..
It is good for 270 plus hp.
It should be a perfect turbo for your 2L T-4. They spool real early on a WRX and those are 2L engines also.
I love mine. 8)

Hi All, ok perfect, many thanks for the reactions.
Yes Robin, en Wim? Ik ken jullie via de Keversite. :)

I will search for a Td04/05 turbo.
Will you recommended that I will use the internal wastegate? Or made it external?

I have Rutgerbuggy his old turbo exhaust + wastegate (that you welded Robin :) )

Thank you.

8,5-1 I think.. Deck height unknown yet. Maybe it's better to assembly the short block first to do some measurements.

Update: Yesterday I bought a TD04L-13T on eBay ... hope it's here soon. 8)

Update:

I Ordered 2 sets of Lifter bushings... 1 for me and 1 for my Brother in law.

I've seen a lot of broken t4 lifters, so I would prefer to use T1 lifters..

So, the engine case is ready for the lifter bushings..

Also my new Webcam T1 lifters came in.

Just brought the engine case to the welder who will do some custom work for me on the case. (under the Porsche fan part)

Need to wait for: rod bearings and stronger valve springs, and then the build fun can begin 8)
