Any Street engine running 30psi?
Any Street engine running 30psi?
Are there any street engines running 30psi on occasion? Just want to know how long you've been doing that, what size engine? EFI or Carbs?
Thanks,
Thanks,

I got 27.8 out of mine last year. So not quite what you are looking for, but hopefully we'll go there this year. Mine is a 2278, EFI, intercooled and running e85.
Kalle would be the best to talk to here though...

No idea. Not enough! The 1995lb car went 11.44@119 on a very safe(MEGA RICH) 20psi pass.

I'm at the limit of my Map sensor at 22 lbs. right now.
Getting a Map Daddy put in next month so I just might have to kick it up a notch........

Every day I hit that, rain or shine
You meant oil pressure correct? I would think that the IATs would get a little crazy, like well past the point of making any sense for anything "street trim."

Yeah some may call it overkill, but you can't have too much overkill.

Re: Any Street engine running 30psi?
A calculator I use says that at 30 lbs boost and 100 degree inlet temp would give a boosted temp of 307 degree F.
If you had a 70 % efficient intercooler you could be back down to 162 degrees. Add a little bit of Water/Alcohol injection and you could be down to 120 degrees or less.
My W/I will get my temps down to 130 degrees at 22 lbs....no intercooler.

No need for 30# if you have a good combo(correct sized turbo ect.)

Hi guys,
Boost is just a matter of tapping some computer buttons
My base engine is so tiny and lazy that it needs boost and I`m also using E85 which makes it a lot easier for me to apply more of it.
1641ccm, EFI, Mahle pistons and barrels, CB044 40x35 heads, Precision turbo - 354 whp at 25psi and increasing at higher boost as the turbo get into the area where it really shines
Looks like this:
And behaves like this:
-K-

Re: Any Street engine running 30psi?
What fuel? Head specs? Management?
I got almost 25psi on cheap Chevron 91 octane out of mine. I think there was more in it, I just never pushed harder. This was with no methanol or water injection. DRD L7T heads, 44x37.5, SLR XR302, and SS Pistons from aircooled.net. The car was a monster in street trim, ultimately I turned it down, I just didn't have enough tire to keep the car planted when the boost came up in 3rd gear at 60mph. I never dyno'd this combo, or put it on the track. LOTS of fun as a DD for a few months though

E85, Water/Meth injection, 44x40 Comp Elm head, Air to Air Intercooled running Electromotive TECH GT. Just still working minor issue but the car sounds EVIL
