The installation was very straight forward : just followed the instructions and voila !
my initial setting is 15°, light load cruising is 35° and at full boost is 22°.
This thing work perfectly from the beginning.

what kind of adjustability does the blackbox have is it boost referenced timing.

It has a internal map sensor. You can control timing with input from rpm and load / boost.

It is a nice kit. I have it too, a while back at my supercharged project and now just on my engine NA. Does a great thing on normal stock engines too.

It also has revlimiter and 2 step.

For the money not a bad product. I would advise it to anyone taking the first try at going forced induction.

I can't say more than what Rubensky already wrote
It 's very easy to install, and not complicated to tune. you already have two ignition maps (10psi and 18psi) to start with.

The fuel plumbing is finished. one AN6 in the Fuel pressure regulator, the return also in AN6, and one AN4 to the carb.

It's time to assemble the 1835cc engine. The volume combustion chambers are 53cc, so with a DH of 1.23mm (0.048") my CR is 8.5/1

The ring gap opened up to 0.50mm. It was at 0.40mm before, and that's not enough for turbo charging

The short block is OK :

And the jugs ready to install with teflon buttons:

You got skillz! Seems you tackle this build the right way! Not just add a turbo on a stock engine and see what goes wrong!

Thumbs up!

Thank You Rubenski.

I usually read a lot and think long before starting anything ! .
Breaking parts is always expensive and time consuming. So the goal is learning a lot before starting anything.
Especially if you are tight (I am always) on budget like me !
I started turbocharging (draw through)in 2007 and I quickly realized that it was necessary to respect certain rules when starting in turbo. especially doing nothing without a wideband. It's just impossible. Turbo is funny ( I will never come back to NA)but things can go wrong very fast !

First installation in the car. Of course, this is not the right way to install the air filter ! just for starting the engine.

Here's a close up. you can see the crank evac system. Only one hose that go from the CB breather box to the exhaust. That's enough for me. no valve covers venting.
