Have you got decklid stand offs? That would scoop cool air into the engine bay and help bring the temperature down.

btw, looks like a great little car. ☺

Hi,

When I turn on the car in the morning it barely idles when cold. I then touched the #1 exhaust pipe and it is warm to the touch. You can even grab it. Not the others, those will burn your hand. I thought it was the spark plug, changed it and still the same.

Any thoughts?
1970 VW Beetle with 2109cc turbo with MS-II v3.0, wasted spark, electronic boost controller, dual table, launch control and 3.88 tranny. All done by me...:) t03 running 48lb. Injectors, Intercooler, Water/Meth injection at 15psi.

Have you tried pulling off the plug wire when it's running and seeing if there's any change?

Also you could move that injector to see if it follows otherwise it could be wiring to the injector

Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.
