Sure enough it seems to be a plunger (plungers).

I haven't spent THAT much time doing it, LOL! Does sound fun though. There is a piston and a spring in there. Thats all there should be.

That doesn't look like the pressure relief spot on the bottom of the case...is that the full flow spot to the left of the pulley?

That is the spot just above of where the relieve valve is. Both look the same. All I got out was the spring. I can't get that piston or whatever to move in either of them. But I didn't try real hard because I didn't know if it was supposed to come out.

Get em. With a light I could see that they were hollow on the bottom. A 12mm tap just barely fit in. I was able to just screw it in with my fingers and they pulled right out. I thought there would be a spring on top as well.

Nice! I took my shoulder off at 9:30 last night. Bout 9 hours of cook time. Turned out pretty good. The bark was a little tougher than I wanted but I'm still learning. Meat was delicious though!

Damn. I forgot a lot of what I was going to do with this thing! I think I was going to go with a cw 69mm crank, CB unitech rods, stock heads that I will port myself to get the compression ratio where I want it. I will have to look back in this thread to see what cam I was going to use. It was a Web if I remember right.

Getting old isn't for the faint of heart for sure! Wait until you get a bit deeper into the process, that is where the fun begins  .

Has anyone ever done much cylinder head work? If I use my stock heads it looks like I'm going to need to take 6cc-7cc out of them to get my compression right. Is that possible? I'm a bit concerned because it appears I have to cut the step out of the head when I take it to 94mm so that may cause some big problems. I really have no idea what's going to happen when I do that. I believe I read that a stock head is 54cc chamber but I don't know if that includes the step or not.

just find some copper head gaskets/spacers they make diff thicknesses  all of my motors run them without issues and don't worry about big deck height either I think my 2276 is running .120   and it scoots 8)

Ok I will keep that in mind. Maybe I will do a bit of both. I really just want to get the machine work done on the case at this point. I'm hoping he does it by the weekend.
