Re: 1600 turbo build thread
Yeah I have a few little things to do. But those don't make it go fast!
I tried another squirter and its better, but the lean stumble is still there. I need to order a couple more of them. The one I tried I can see its been drilled out too so I really don't know what size it is. I notice it most when I go into second gear. I might try a different accelerator pump cam too. I have the most aggressive off idle cam in there now. I may need one less aggressive that is more drawn out.

Re: 1600 turbo build thread
Ok just to recap.
I have a stock 1600 with a Subaru TD04-13t turbo and right now running a Holley 350cfm 2 barrel draw through on a 4 barrel intake with a 2 barrel adaptor. I have 52 main jets, 10.5 power valve that is boost referenced, and just changed it to a 32 accelerator squirter and a brown cam on position #1. Boost is around 7 psi.
I thought it was my easy driving but I stretched it out tonight and 7psi is about all I saw. So I assume that's where the spring is. I see the 7psi fairly early. I can't watch all the gauges enough to tell when stuff is happening. Never heard any pinging to date.
PLX wide band and boost module.
Stock trans from 1965
205/65/15 tires on the back and 135's up front.

I bet that thing has to be shifted pretty quick? with the 4:37 R&P in the trans? someday you may want to upgrade to a 4:12 or ever a 3:88 trans way less "shifting"

Re: 1600 turbo build thread
For sure. First gear is nearly useless. I'd love some 3:88's. I can let my clutch out in first without giving it any gas at all and it won't stall. It would be a great car to learn to drive stick in!

it it lowered in the back? (looking at your sig) how do you get those tyres without rubbing?

Yeah it's lowered one outer spline. They fit easy. In fact I think a 215 would fit. I am raising it up soon though. Just enough to get the tires square. Probably +5-5

I have 215s, there is still room. Just need the right offset rims to use it all.

Think you could get one size bigger on there?

Re: 1600 turbo build thread
Maybe, with the right rim offset. I have 1/4" spacers in there right now. My rims have a ton of backspace.

Re: 1600 turbo build thread
I'd like to run a slick just for looks but we get sudden downpours here.... So maybe a DOT slick or something like that. It would have to fit on my 5.5" rim though so I couldn't go crazy.

Oooooh. Getting close now. I went down on the squirter size and I think that helped with the duration of the pump shot. I need to go down a size on the main too I think.

Yeah I need to see if I can borrow my brother in laws go pro. Although its probably pretty boring at less than 7psi. I did feel my first clutch slippage tonight though. Yay! Mo money!!
