Re: 1600 turbo build thread
Not really. All I see is parts laying on my garage floor!
But judging from how close the intake studs are to the edge of the seats I'd guess that is a Panchito!

The last comment on the Instagram page asks about the intake flange!

It must not be a problem. If you look through the page with their engine builds, probably 80% of them have Panchito heads.

I am going to be calling them again tomorrow. If I get someone, I will ask about why the studs are so close to the edge.

Has anyone here ever mounted an in-tank fuel pump to their VW? I absolutely hate the sound of a fuel pump. Figured it would run cooler in the tank too. I was thinking today that I should start doing some of this other stuff while I'm waiting for parts.

Chip Birks has an in tank setup but his bug is an early style tank. I'm sure it can be done.
I use an external Volvo pump and I can only hear it for a brief instance at low idle.

Yeah I have a feeling they are pretty self explanatory once you have em in hand. Just have to look into the cost vs in line.

Not really. I guess if you buy a kit, it should hopefully be self explanatory. I'm not a kit guy. I bought the components I wanted, and built my own brackets amd such. Took some thought, but does the job.

I never even thought about piecing it together.

Re: 1600 turbo build thread
Ok. Just got off the phone with Pat Downs and I told him I wanted to build an engine and didn't want to go exactly conservative but I wanted it to run good. He recommended I get super pro heads with 69cc chambers with an .060 deck (8very1 compression or so) and the FK 10 (their #2292) with 1.25 rockers with 5.4" rods VW journals. He agreed to just work up an invoice on a kit minus the case which I have. I have a plan now. He's going to email it out to me on Monday so we should have a ball rolling soon after.
