Put a good clutch in it then you can slip your 3rd and 4th gear syncro hubs and have to pull it apart again......Been there done that.....

I am running 6x26 M&H slicks on 5.5" rims. M&H sells a DOT version 215/65 15. It would work fine for you. Has the big M&H on the sidewall, and enough tread to be legal.

That's the plan! Then I can get my 3:88 gears!

Don't get too high of gears......you are only a 1600 off boost unless you want it working so hard it wants to go in boost on cruise......

I guess there is no way to be sure. But it is dead flat here and shouldn't be loaded too much. I hope to get a better feel for what's happening as I drive it more. Right now I'm trying to watch the speedo, tach, boost, afr, and vacuum all the time. Just to try to get it tuned right.

I'm getting 'tire pour' or too many lol
26x6 M&H slicks mounted on 6"Centerline copies.
7.5/23 x15's M&H slicks Mounted on 7" Centerlines that came on the bug ,good for the 1/8 mile(got caught in the rain on a cruise wasn't as bad as I expected
and the 215 65 15 M&H DOT's which is a street slick that I just picked up at the latest swap meet 8) That I probably will mount on the 6"centerline copies

Ok. So I have to order some stuff so I'm going to go ahead and get my clutch and pressure plate ordered. Since I have a 180mm fly wheel I have to get one of those too. So what's the consensus? Lightened or stock weight?

How bout this? http://www.cbperformance.com/product-p/1305.htm
That said, unless you are racing the car around turns and need insta rpm to get you out of said turns, a stock weight flywheel will do you much better than a light one.

That's interesting. I did some reading last night and some say not to run a lightened fly wheel unless you have a cw crank too. Berg says to run lightened you need a weighted pulley.

and Berg was the only guy who sold them weighted pulleys
seems they will put more stress on that rear little crank bearing
just run a stock Flywheel, remember turbos like the 'Load'
I'm still tryin the figure out how u ran a 180mm on a 1600 crank   must of been an O-ring style? and not the step

Beats me buddy. I just took the fly wheel off my 1200 and bolted it on the 1600. I guess? It was nearly 10 years ago.
I guess anyway. I just put a starter in it and I had to put a 6v starter in for it reach.

Is welding those hubs something a dude can do at home?

Maybe if you are good at TIG welding. Probably best left to the pros, I sometimes have to remind myself that just because I can do something doesn't mean that I should.
Good Luck
