Re: My draw through turbo
I wish we didn't have dam inspections then I would have more money to waste on my bug
Now right at the beginning of this thread I was advised to go with .70 pump jets and I never asked the question why. So why was I advised to run .70 pump jets?
I would of never brought this up but I'm running .55's in my set up and am considering upping them a little.
PS I had a close call this morning, was at a T junction and saw a gap in the traffic ( very busy road) put my foot down engine accelerated and before I could change into 2nd gear I hit the new rev limiter I've just set up the car noise dived and the limiter wouldn't allow me to pull away and the bloody big lorry that was behind me was not impressed with me at all. F@£king rev limiter

Re: My draw through turbo
Right I need some more advise. The bug has always had an issue crusing along at around 2600 to 2900 rpm she had all ways been lumpy and jumpy at that rpm but she drive fine everywhere else in the rpm range from idle (1000rpm) up to 5500rpm so know the A/F ratio gauge is back up and running I've just gone for a quick spin round the block and between 2600 rpm and 2900 rpm she runs rich any ideas why?
For example going along at 2000rpm I have a 13.1:1 A/F ratio then as I approach 2600 rpm in getting a 12.7:1 ratio at 2700 rpm it's 11:1 then 12.6:1 at 2900 rpm then at 3000rpm I'm back to the 13.1:1 ratio. All these figures were taken at a steady constant rpm with a almost warn engine

Re: My draw through turbo
There are several way of fixing this, as I have had the same experience of almost headbutting my steering wheel...
I just don't feel like taking my motor apart and putting a balanced/cw crank in, and getting dual springs...and maybe a new cam.
Snowballing is in full effect at that point

Vinnie, by any chance do you have a light flywheel?

Ha ha ha the twatting rev limiter got me again this afternoon but this time in 2nd gear. Time to turn it off.

Just turn it up, its to prevent damage. If you regularly rev to or above 5500 don't set your limiter there, set it at 6000. Or get faster at shifting!

Re: My draw through turbo
Yes I need to get fast at shifting the fact I'm running a 1200 box is not helping either. I've finally finished a hole tank of fuel and all the driving has be stop start style driving in and around town and I'm getting 15mpg could be worse I suppose

Re: My draw through turbo
Your cruise problem is a misfire I suspect either timing or mixture isn't quite right, try a fresh set of plugs first

Misfire but only between 2600 and 2900 rpm?
I will give the plugs a clean and re gap them and see what happens. Any advice on the gapping? Or should they be gapped the same as stock plugs?

Re: My draw through turbo
Right removed the plugs and all four are very black with h I was expecting to see but in the plug tester all four worked great under atmospheric pressure but one of the plugs started missing at +2psi and gradually got worse untill +7 psi when it finally stopped sparking. But can't see how that would be my crusing issue between 2600 to 2900 rpm?

The combustion chamber is in compression when it fires the plug...
