How much fuel did you try from the 5th injector.
You need at least 30% pre charger in order to provide some cooling.

Hey everyone.

I had a great time testing at the track yesterday. I got in 5 passes in and red lit during the first round of eliminations :( I stripped a supercharger mounting bolt but still manages 13psi at 5k with a best time of 15.47 @ 83mph. I surpassed the 16 second goal I set and cannot be happier with the outcome for this little stock longblock 1600. It makes lots of heat at that boost level and I'm out of the efficiency range for sure, so I have water injection keeping the intake temps around 130 at full boost :D

So good to see you out racing again. Well done and I just wanted to say I personally appreciate constantly thinking outside the box but then pursuing the idea to the Nth degree with all the proper fabrication, development, tuning and data. Makes your products so much more trustworthy. Also shows those of us on a budgets what's really possible with a stock block. :)

Now, TURBO as well!

Thank you, Pete. I really appreciate that :!: :!: I can guarantee you I do this on a budget as well :) Otherwise my car and engine would look SO MUCH BETTER :P I've always thought it was better to test everything on my own car before handing it off untested. But I would have a lot more products available if I didn't need to make sure they worked

If you didn't watch the video, here are the 1/4 numbers. I'm running a stock ratio transmission with 3.88 R&P. 1st and 2nd pull real hard while 3rd and 4th could be better. Maybe a 4.12 R&P could be better in this application?

Here is my a log of my fast run, on the bottom line I have graphed speed vss acceleration. As you can see it's not really moving much faster at the end. Could this be fixed with the lower 4.12 gears?

I'd keep the 3:88 (much stronger then the 4:12)and ad close ratio 3rd & 4th  I always liked the 1:48 & 1:04 or 1:12 combo

Man I laughed when it said, "time for the stinger". The microphone totally overloaded. 😁

But nice work there. Honest numbers for whp and torque. I still think that's got to be the most heavily monitored dp1600 in history. All those WB sensors. Also really interesting that the stinger robbed some up top, but gave you a little bit more torque. What sort of benefit do you think would come from an intercooler or water injection?

Btw, I'm in Northern Arizona at the moment. Just went to the Grand Canyon and now we're in flagstaff. Beautiful country here.

I just had to try a stinger since superchargers don't work well with backpressure. I only did that one pull and didn't make any adjustments. I probably could have pulled some of the HP back but my time was up. I kinda thought it would go the other way freeing up power up top. I guess I'm still learning :P

I am using water injection. A single 350cc/min injector being modulated by the ECU. The intake charge was just to high; without water my temps are 200f+. I added the 5th fuel injector to help but I dont' have a large enough injector to make a difference right now.

Have fun while you are here! What is your next stop after the Grand Canyon?

We've been to the Grand Canyon yesterday. Enjoying Flagstaff today. Then Holbrook and Grant and a few days in Albuquerque. Drove down to Sedona today. Amazing!
