MAX boost psi...how much?
In the works is a TF1 2442 with Scat racing billet Flanged crank, Pauter 5.5 rods, thick wall AA cylinders, Wiseco pistons with Diamond pins @.197 wall thickness, CNC Ultra Wedge port heads, Eagle 2250 cam with 1.25:1 rockers...I believe this combo is pretty stout to handle the HP...I'll also be using Raceware studs to hold everything together. ..my turbo of choice was recommended by Turbos Direct, a 57 trim Garrett turbo. ..how much boost do you think my setup can safely handle...I'll be incorporating a Turbosmart controller with water/meth injection. ..also, if anyone has a hp calculator I'm curious as to what kind of power this engine will make...my guess is around 350-400 with 25 lbs of boost.
Thanks
Thanks

Well.......If a pretty close to stock engine can handle 22-30 lbs boost.........You should be able to at least hit that and at that level you would most likely have quite the handful.
I have been at 22 lbs. for 2-3 years on the street with my 1679.....Guys in Sweden have been at 30 lbs with E85 using a stock cranked 1641 with big cam and ported stock heads. They have dynoed at 400 hp or more and proven it with 10 sec. 1/4 mile times.
Build a quality WI system and an intercooler would be a wise investment.

You should be able to boost 30+ psi IF you have the corect camshaft, turbo, fuel, temp and correct tune ANd get the HP.
If you have the incorect turbo and or camshaft /set up, you still will be able to boost 30psi, but you will not get the HP. Heat and back pressure is the hp killer.
A "trim 57" turbo says verry little.. what turbine wheel size ? What size housing?
Your parts are stout, and up for the job.
I would reconsider a turbo spesific camshaft, and a second opinion on the turbo.
My small 2117ccm has 450Whp at 23psi and 575whp at 33psi.

My MAP is only rated for 25psi, 2.5 bar and is not upgradeable. ..it is a Fitech 4 bbl system blow through.

On another note...I was originally looking at the Fast XFI efi which is good for 5 bar...but when you add up all the system components where talking like almost $5k just for the EFI system, that would make a killer ride. ..but going with the Fitech through Rodney Designs, I'll have to sacrifice another 25psi...that total investment will be under $2k...is it worth $3k for another 25psi?

2.5 bar absolute is a litle low in my book. Limited to 1.5 bar boost.
Im not shure how the Fitech would ensure even fuel distribution at high boost. Looks like a system mainly the replace carbs on V8s.
I would go with a more advanced system, and ITBs.

I haven't bought the kit yet, just my initial plans. ..but Rodney does offer a lot for the money.
As for fuel, 93 pump gas with Turbosmart controller and water/meth injection.

I wanted to buy his header myself, but it was just a bit pricey for me.
