If you're worried about your welds, tack it and then have a good welder finish it for you. Although, I found my TIG skills were pretty great after a few days practice.

I'm worried about all of it. Cuts, fits, and welds. But I know it will be ok. Can't be worse than what I have now.

I just looked back in my account and I guess I have $213 in my header. That's no flange to go on the collector.

Are these currently available somewhere? My VWSpeedshop exhaust is a bit annoying. It's like the CB exhaust, but hangs low behind the engine, genrate a lot of heat around the cold side of the turbo and are worth to upgrade over time. I was thinking about the DRD/A1 style with all the tubework on the 3/4 side of the engine.

Pretty sure A1 will still sell it. I got mine from them. Just have to call and ask. I don't think they have much of an online presence.

Be prepared to wait, I have been waiting almost three months for mine. I think he only offers it in stainless now too.

I ordered a 1 5/8” in stainless steel for $485. The CB one is less, but in mild steel and a sub optimal location for the WG. I’m happy not having to relocate the WG and send it to a coater. The fact that it makes room in the rear of the engine is also a plus, especially if you don’t wrap your pipes.

Agreed. By the time you fix the cb and have it coated your right there. And the A1 frees up space in the back.

Finally got the header. I actually paid $595 for the completed header, as I paid a $100 deposit when I ordered it way back when...

Probably spray it with hi temp paint and wrap it. The flanges are mild steel so they still need some protection from the elements.
