Nitrous or Turbo?

I just made my own t25 flange out of some thick steel. So that's an option for whatever flange you have...and the turbo that I got from the junkyard, I just took it apart and de-coked it. Works great.

You will not make the exhaust flange for that Volvo turbo. Three bolts and tapered seat.

I was considering adding a little nitrous to my supercharger install. Like a 25 shot. That would transfer over to my turbo setup pretty easily so it wouldn't be a waste

Does anybody have suggestions on maybe a basic ebay turbo kit that may have many usable parts like oil lines and maybe some piping?

DO you have a pick-n-pull near by? I think that could be the best option...especially if you need to get coils, injectors, fuel pump, yada yada...

This is where you will have to do some digging. Also, couple more questions...have you decided if you are keeping the carb and distributor? Or are you going fuel injection? Crank fire trigger? Microsquirt/Megasquirt?
We can give you a better idea what you will need after that. As far as makes and models, its kinda whatever works for your application...for example, I got a throttle body off a 1.8ish Hyundai Elantra, LS2 coils off a big Chevy V8 truck, injectors out of a Tahoe, IAC valve out of a 2000ish model Volvo, and a couple turbos out of Saabs and Volvos. Several of the senders (Coolant/Intake Temp) I bought new, because I didn't know where they were on the cars I was picking from.

I'm thinking I'm going to stick to carb and distributor right now, this is more of an experiment than anything. What would need to be done to carb and distributor for it to work with a turbo? What's a good donor vehicle for a turbo that will work with this motor and have flanges that are not super difficult to fab?

So for this, I would refer to Clonebug and the first bunch of pages in his build thread. For turbos, you just want to find a car that has similar displacement as yours. I chose a volvo that had a 1.8L to go with my 1776cc. I think the Subaru turbos are supposed to be really good for a wide range of motors. I personally would go the Subaru route if you can. Whatever turbo you find, just look on ebay and get a flange and then weld it to your extractor. easy peasy.
You're going to have to do a bit of fabbing on your extractor and plumbing of some charge pipes, but thats all part of the fun.

The carb needs very few mods in a buggy. People get hung up on sealing throttle shafts and various other mods. In my experience sealing the throttle shafts is completely unnecessary when the engine bay is open if your carb isn’t slap ass worn out anyway.

I’m blowing through a 30 pict on a single port and my major carb mod is choke removal and the addition of a thunderjet.

You will need to boost reference the mechanical fuel pump. That’s easy peasy. I just drill the pump base for a 10-32 thread 1/8 barb and cut the shaft for an o ring to act as a seal. Then blob some jb weld over the original vent in the pump to seal it for boost pressurization below the diaphragm.

Make sure you cut a hole in the pump gasket for pressure to flow through into the pump body

Sorry if I don't understand but what are you pressurizing by adding pressure to the pump base ?

Curious as well...thought the port would be in the metal part of the pump, to actually affect the diaphragm
