VWEEP History

Post by Gunthner »

Is anyone familiar with a VWeep? There's one in town and I must say, it is interesting. From the faded decals they were originally manufactured in Arizona. The steel on the body is thickand it must weight at least twice as much as a standard bug. Inside it's pretty spartan but cool looking. Any information about their value, a VWeep club, etc would be appreciated.

Is that "VWEEP" or just "VEEP?

The latter was a glass body made to fit on a full length bug pan IIRC. Will try to find some old kit car lit I had boxed up. Wasn't that mid-1970s?

The logo on the vehicle had 'VWeep' on it and it was manufactured by either a garbage truck manufacturer or industrial trash container mfg in Arizona. I might need to go back and look at the manufacturers name but I thought it was National Refuse Manufacturing in Phoenix.
