wbx cam wear

Post by Paul Lee »

Hello everyone. Here are pics of the cam lobes from my 1.9 wbx (about 90k). My machinist looked at it and said that it would be ok to use it, but I've also heard that cams with pitting should not be used. This is my first rebuild so I'm looking for some more info and extra opinions. Also been debating getting an aftermarket cam. Would like to hear comments from others that have more experience.

Overall it's not bad, perfectly serviceable. I would use it, but not expecting 100k miles out of it.

Thanks for the replies. I'm glad to hear that the cam looks ok and is serviceable. I'll probably use it since its a stock 1.9 rebuild. Seems pointless to junk it even if it won't last 100k.
