Post by bj »

looking to powder coat my bumpers with some type of color chrome and was wondering how well is stands up to the crap that swept up from the road and hits the bumber, like small stones ,etc?

Strong enough that i needed to sandblast it off a sprint car frame a friend had. The rocks on the race track didn't seem to do much damage to the power coat. Depending where you are you may have alot more rocks to deal with though.

I think it just depends on who did it. I have seen a few that are tough as nails and then I have seen some stuff dropped on the pavement and took a chunk out of it. I think it all boils down to you get what you pay for. :D

 Powder Coating will stick to chrome that is scuffed up....

 Powder Coating sticks/bond strongest clean metal and not chrome....

 The place I've worked with told me this.. Their main business is doing patio furniture and railings and Commercial restuarant fixtures and furniture...
