A break down of day two on the road...

Post by MASSIVE TYPE IV »

Today wasn't a very effective day for us....

We got into Indy last night around midnight, uploaded data, crashed and woke up at 0700 ready to rock!

We met up with Ray Iddings from Volksbashradio, did a couple of interviews and then headed out to get the car weighed. Ray tagged along to show us to the scales down the road and the extra weight he stacked into the car created an "issue" as the left rear tire touched the suspension points and dug a trench in the tire!!

This necessitated a stop at Wal Mart for a New tire... The jackasses at walmart would not allow us to "grind" the body away to prevent this from occuring again so we pulled the tire off in the parking lot and pulled out the cordless grinder and did it ourselves!

We all piled back in the car, dropped Ray off and headed to Momence IL to LN Engineering to meet up with Charles and grab our oils that we will be teswting for the remainder of the trip. Unfortunately the whole tire episode coupled with the interviews threw us off schedule badly so we just decided to crash here and do a really long, hard day tomorrow all the way into Breckenridge- about 1000 miles!

So today we only logged one run, spent a lot of time BSing and preparing for the oil testing- It's 0030 hrs now and I have to crash as reville comes early tomorrow morning at 0430 for a VERY long day behind the wheel of the Plague-

BTW- Car is still running flawlessly!

Cool, how many times before have you driven out to cali jake?? I stopped going to wal*mart awhile ago due to all the crap they pull and horrible service.

Man 1,000 miles is going to be one long day, thats 14.28 hours at your average speed (70).

Good luck and good travels.... :D
